Not That Easy

Connecting the hose is simple enough - the connectors only fit one way and the hose is longs enough to reach the tank. There definitely is an issue with using the set up though. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! After turning on the tank slowly, wait at least a minute to let the pressure build in the pressure regulator (the round thingy) before lighting. Otherwise this won't work - it will be extrememly hard to light and give small flame. Even when lit correctly the pressure regulator "whined." This should be a slam-dunk, but isn't.

Convert from 14oz to 20lb tank with me!!

I hate buying those un-refillable tanks----this will let you use the 20lb with the Weber Q, Baby Q or Gas GO anywhere

SQUIRRELS STILL BIG PROBLEM!!!

Bought the coils, covered the hose tightly with coils and the squirrels still ate through! I don't understand it. The squirrels didn't touch the hose on my full-sized grill. Don't buy this product--it won't work and is too much of a hassle!!!

Excedes the price I paid

Ok so I got it on sale here for 29 bucks. But even at a higher price this is a great package for the on the road griller. Everything you need in a nice case. Quality stainless steel tools. What more can you ask for? Ignore the clueless reviewer from Chicago (a little tip for you my dear...if you receive a broken product you send it back for replacement)

Great Product!

This product is great. I've only used it twice, but it is a really cool product and works great. I highly recommend it.

Great product

I commonly cook overnight for long smokes. This thermometer is great. I second the opinions of the other reviewers.

There are only 2 reasons I don't give this 5 stars:
1) The receiver must be turned on first, then the transmitter. So, if you do lose signal, you can't just power cycle the receiver, you have to go out and power cycle the transmitter too.

2) When the unit loses signal (it happens..it's a radio), you cannot set it it alarm!! So, if I'm cooking overnight, and the unit loses signal, I sleep all night without knowing that the pit temperature is still in the right range. I really wish it would alarm when it loses signal.

However, those 2 things aside (these are minor), I still give it 4 stars and would not want to live without it.

Excellent product. I don't have any range problems

Despite mixed reviews, I purchased a Maverick Remote Smoker (dual probe) Thermometer (Model ET-73) and just received it today. The biggest complaint I found online was in regard to its range. One review stated that they have fixed this problem in newer manufacturing batches so I took a chance.

It looks like it paid off. I'm getting excellent range from one side of my house to the other, upstairs, downstairs, outside, and in the basement. I was really surprised and very glad I made this purchase. The temps for both probes are dead on.

I think I can say that I highly recommend this unit without having even cooked with it yet. Especially considering the only negative feedback I've read was in regard to the range and I'm not having that problem at all.

Gets the job done

Barbecue is good but controlling the heat from charcoals can be tricky. I've been trying to master the art for years, and with this product it makes it a lot easier to indirectly cook larger portions of meat. Also helps to controll the range of cooking you desire, on one side of the grill you can have less charcoal burning for things like hot dogs, and thinner portions of meat, that don't require intense heat, and on the other end you can put more charcoals for things like chicken breasts and steak. Has a suffiecient capacity but could hold more and is why I gave it 4 stars. Other than that I love the fuel holders it makes placement and clean-up of charcoal a breeze and it gets the job done.
